20th Anniversary Celebration a Success
On February 25th, 2012, the Massachusetts Eta chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon celebrated its twentieth anniversary. The event took place at Northeastern in the university’s alumni center its guests included current chapter members, chapter alumni, founding fathers of the Massachusetts Eta chapter, and regional Sigma Phi Epsilon coordinators. Speakers included AVC president Mark Macomber, regional director Alex Woodlief, and current chapter president Matthew Straight. Additionally, proceeds from the event raised over $1500 for the chapter’s balanced man scholarship. This award is sponsored by Massachusetts Eta and is given every year to select students who exemplify the virtues of a balanced man, regardless of whether or not they are a member of the fraternity. The anniversary was a success on all levels and already had its guests looking forward to the next big anniversary celebration. It represented another important step in the growth of the relatively young chapter and reminded all who attended how far the chapter has come in such a short time.
